She is the 1st female background singer of our film industry with over 6,000 songs in different languages including Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil and Punjabi. Till date people like to tap their feet on her melodies when remixed. Shamshad Begum – the legendary singer, though not among us today, is an immortal part of the completion of 100 years of Cinema.

Shemaroo Entertainment pays tribute to Shamshad Begum and releases Shraddhanjali: Shamshad Begum- Saiyan Dil Main Aana Re… & Other Hits – a song compilation DVD. The DVD contains songs like “Mere piya Gaye Rangoon” from Patanga (1949) and “Saaiya dil main aana re” from Vyjayantimala’s debut film Bahar (1951) to the evergreen qawwali “Teri Mehfil Mein Kismat” from Mughal-E-Azam (1960). Her work with maestros like Naushad Ali, S. D. Burman, & C. Ramchandra is well captured in the DVD.

Mumbai, (GNS) :  Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Gramophone  Record Museum was released by playbacksinger Mrs. Madhu Chandra along with other dignitaries ,their 5th edition  ”Hindi Chitrapat Geet Sangeet Kosh: 1981 -1990″  which was held here on May 4,2013, on occasion of hindi cinema memorabilia ceremony  commemorate the 100 anniversary of Hindi Films.

The book is Edited and Compiled by noted hindi film book writer Mr Jagdish Purohit and Ghulam Qureshi, and after tireless efforts of Suman Chaurasia. This   mammoth effort was praised by noted film personalities after reading this book.
Program was inaugurated by with lighting of lamp and followed with ballet presentation made ​by Ms Himani Sisodia. On this occasion, renowned lyricists Yogesh, Maya Govind, Devmani Pandey, playbacksinger Mrs. Madhu Chandra, painter Raju Chaurasia, composer Rubin, Kirti Anurag, Jugal Kishore,Ajay Swami, Kishore Desai, playback singer Madhubala Jhaveri, film columnist Dr. Rajan Shrivastava,Viswanath Chatterjee and Manik Premchand addressed the gathering.
Memory Lane by Maya Govind all his expressions mass audience – to cheers. She expressed concernin the ongoing round of songs which are making wrong impact on society. She bygone era pioneerdescribed his throat Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar.
On the other hand the famous lyricist Yogesh in his impassioned address, and the famous old songs won  the  hearts of people. Dr. Rajeev Srivastava said while he lauded Yogesh lyricist Shailendra kept the genrealive.
Suman Chaurasia and Keshav Rai welcomed all the guests by Memento, Quince, shawl on behalf of their  institution.

‘Aashiqui 2’ debuts in 545 UFO digital theatres

Mumbai, (GNS) : Mohit Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’ debuts this week in 545 UFO digital theatres and thriller film ‘Shree’ debuts in 79 UFO digital theatres.  ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ screens in 197 UFO digital theatres in week two, while ‘Commando A One Man Army’ is in 220 UFO digital theatres in week three.  ‘Chashme Baddoor’ screens in 81 UFO digital theatres in week four.

Among South Indian films, Telugu film ‘Shadow’ debuts this week in 289 UFO digital theatres while ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde’, in its second week, screens in 130 UFO digital theatres and ‘Baadshah’, in its fourth week, screens in 143 UFO digital theatres.  Kannada film ‘Jataayu’ debuts this week in 47 UFO digital theatres,the release said.

Punjabi film ‘Lucky Di Unlucky Story’ debuts this week in 57 UFO digital theatres.

Sunny Leone refused permission by DTCM to perform her first ever appearance in Dubai

Mumbai, (GNS) : The controversial queen and porn star Sunny Leone who was unable to perform a cage dance in Dubai Nightclub called wild and Sunny  which was organised by Javed Shafi CEO of Premiere Production House. Sunny Leone Fridays show got  cancelled last minute due to rejection from DTCM (Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing).  According to organiser Javed Shafi of Premiere Production House, all those who had purchased tickets to see Leone were refunded and the entry was made free for the night as opposed to the Dh100 tickets at the door. However, the audience had enjoyed the night with DJ Shadow, Hani and Bollywood dancers.

After this mess  up Sunny is expected to return with the cast of ‘Shootout at Wadala’ at Ibn Battuta Mall, alongside John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor. Whereas the organisers of Premiere Production House who are planning to do lots of BIG BOLLYWOOD EVENTS AND HOLLYWOOD EVENTS and BOLLYWOOD FILM PREMIERE promotions in the future in Dubai.. is wondering how she will get a chance to promote and perform her movie promotion  in Dubai, an official statement said here today.

Premiere Production House CEO… Javed Shafi Said, “I respect the decision of DTCM but It’s very disappointing for us that sunny didn’t get a chance to perform in Nightclub due to rejection from tourism department”

So now how it could be possible for sunny to come in Dubai within a week time to just promote and perform for  her movie

Mumbai, (GNS) : The money saved will be donated by the filmmakers to drought victims in Maharashtra.
Director Kishore Belekar’s film Yeda, which marks Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana’s debut in the Marathi film industry, will soon be released but due to the existing drought condition in the state, the filmmaker has decided to scrap the premiere of his film.
“The team of Yeda has unanimously decided to not hold a premiere of our film. The amount we save through this will be donated to the drought victims,” informs Belekar.

NEW DELHI ( MAYA) : WinnersActor Irrfan Khan has  won the best actor for his performance as athlete-turned-dacoit in Paan Singh Tomar at the 60th National Film Awards announced today.

Paan Singh Tomar, which has been produced by UTV Software communications Ltd. and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, also won the best Hindi feature film.

In non-feature film category, the award for the best film has been conferred to Shepherds of Paradise (Gojri and Urdu) produced and 0directed by Raja Shabir Khan.

In the category of best writing on cinema section, the book Silent Cinema in India – A Pictorial Journey (English) written by B.D. Garga and published by Harper Collins Publisher India has bagged the top honour, whereas P.S. Radhakrishnan has been conferred the award for the best film critic.

In the feature film category, a total of 38 films from 14 languages have been selected for the 60th National Awards. Chittagong (Hindi) and 101 Chodiyangal (Malayalam) have shared the Indira Gandhi award for the best debut film of a director.

The award for the best popular film for providing wholesome entertainment has been shared by Vicky Donor (Hindi) and Ustad Hotel (Malayalam).

The award for the best director has been conferred on Shivaji Lotan Patil for the film Dhag (Marathi).

The award for the best actor has been shared by Irrfan playing the title role in Paan Singh Tomar and Vikram Gokhale for the film Anumati (Marathi).

The award for the best actress has been conferred on Usha Jadhav for her performance in Dhag (Marathi).

The award for the best supporting actor has been conferred on Anu Kapur for the film Vicky Donor.

The award for the best supporting actress has been shared by Dolly Ahluwalia for the film Vicky Donor and Kalpana for the film ThanichallaNjan (Malyalam).

The best child artist award has been shared by Master Virendra Pratap for Dekh Indian Circus (Hindi) and Master Minon for 101 Chodiyangal (Malayalam).

The award for the best male playback singer has been conferred on Shankar Mahadevan for the song Bolo Na from the film Chittagong. The award for the best female playback singer has been conferred on Samhita for the song Palakein Naa Moon Don from the film Aarti Anklekartikekar (Marathi).

The award for the best screenplay writer (original) has been conferred on Sujoy Ghosh for the film Kahaani.

So we all know that a pregnant Vidya Balan (Vidya Bagchi) is looking for her missing husband in Kolkata.

The award for best screenplay writer (adapted) has been conferred on Bhavesh Mandalia and Umesh Shukla for the film Oh My God.

The award for the best dialogue has been conferred on Anjali Menon for the film Ustad Hotel (Malayalam). The award for the best lyrics has been conferred on Prasoon Joshi for the song Bolo Na from the film Chittagong.

A special jury award has been conferred on Rituparno Ghosh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the films Chitrangadha (Bengali), Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Dekh Indian circus and Talaash (Hindi).

The award for the best choreography has been conferred on Pt. Birju Maharaj for the film Vishwaroopam (Tamil).

In the non-feature film category, Vikrant Pawar has got the best director award for the film Kaatal (Marathi). The award for the best debut film of a director has been conferred to Lipika Singh Darai for the film Eka Gachha Eka Manisa Eka Samudra (Odia).

Shumona Goel and Shai Heredia for the film I Am Micro (English) and Vasudah Joshi for Cancer Katha (English) have been selected for special jury award. Timbaktu (English) has been awarded as the best film in the environmental category and Dreaming Taj Mahal (Hindi and Urdu) has been conferred the award for the best promotional.

The national film awards jury was led this year by filmmaker Basu Chatterjee.
